Minecraft Java Edition is the original PC edition of Minecraft: an open-ended sandbox built around exploration, survival, building and community-made content. Java servers are especially popular because they support mature plugin and mod ecosystems and can range from a small private survival world to a heavily customized community server.
Why a dedicated server?
A dedicated Java server keeps the world online without one player needing to host it, while giving the owner direct access to server software, configuration, files, plugins and backups.
