Runic Hosting uses browser storage when it is needed for login, security, customer features or preferences. We do not need behavioral-advertising cookies to sell game hosting.
What cookies are
Cookies are small text records stored by a browser. Similar technologies include local storage and session storage. They can remember a login session, preference, security state or other information needed by a website.
Essential storage
We may use essential cookies or equivalent browser storage for authentication, fraud prevention, CSRF/security protections, session continuity, customer-panel operation and other functions necessary to provide the website or paid Service. Disabling essential storage may prevent parts of the site or customer account from working.
Preferences
The public site may store non-sensitive preferences locally, such as whether you selected light or dark mode. It also remembers that you dismissed the cookie notice so the notice is not shown again.
Referral links
If you arrive through an affiliate’s referral link, the Runic Hosting Client Area stores a secure, HttpOnly cookie for 30 days recording that affiliate’s referral code so they can be credited if you sign up or order a server. It identifies the affiliate, not you, and is not used for advertising or shared with other websites. You can delete it at any time through your browser.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics and Speed Insights on public marketing pages to understand aggregated page usage and site performance. Vercel documents these products as privacy-focused analytics that do not use third-party advertising cookies or build cross-site browsing profiles. Runic excludes staff, login and customer-account routes from these analytics components.
We do not use cross-site behavioral advertising cookies or sell cookie-derived customer profiles to advertisers. If a future non-essential technology requires consent where you live, we will provide an appropriate choice before using it.
Third-party services
When you open or use a third-party payment, authentication, support or infrastructure service, that provider may set its own cookies under its own policy. For example, a payment provider may use cookies for fraud prevention, account login and transaction security. We do not control cookies placed directly by a third party on that provider’s own domain.
Your choices
You can remove or block cookies and local storage through your browser. Doing so may sign you out, reset preferences or prevent account features from working correctly. Where we introduce optional cookie categories that require consent, the site will provide a way to change those choices.
Changes
This Policy may change as Runic Hosting adds customer-account, analytics or security technologies. Material privacy changes will also be reflected in the Privacy Policy.
