Set up your Satisfactory dedicated server

Claim and manage the Satisfactory dedicated server through the supported Server Manager flow, then protect the authoritative factory save before advanced changes.

Claim the server first

  1. Start the provisioned server and wait until it reports ready.
  2. Add the assigned server in Satisfactory Server Manager using the connection details from Runic.
  3. Claim the unclaimed server and set a strong administrator password.
  4. Set a client password only if you want players to authenticate before joining.
  5. Create or load the intended session and confirm it appears in Server Manager.
ImportantDo not publish the administrator password or API/application tokens in tickets, screenshots or public logs.

Move an existing factory

  1. Create a backup of the destination service and keep a local copy of the source save.
  2. Use the supported Server Manager or validated Runic upload workflow to transfer the save.
  3. Load the uploaded save and verify player access, factory state and recent progression.
  4. Keep the previous recovery point until the group confirms the migration is good.

Advanced configuration

Basic server identity and passwords belong in the supported Server Manager/API workflow. Advanced Unreal Engine INI changes should be made only while the server is stopped because a graceful shutdown can rewrite configuration files.

Changing player caps, autosave behavior or other advanced values can affect performance. Make one change at a time and keep a working backup.
