Restart and update
- Warn players and back up the server save and enshrouded_server.json before a game update or configuration change.
- Stop in the panel and wait for a clean exit. Edit the JSON while stopped, then start and check for a ready session.
- Use a matching current client to confirm the world, character access and recent progression.
Join fails or the server is missing
- Check the panel address, server status, configured password and player slots.
- Compare client and server versions; Enshrouded updates can require a dedicated-server update before players reconnect.
- Inspect Console for a JSON parse error or network binding problem. Do not overwrite provider-managed IP or query-port settings with tutorial defaults.
Mods and plugins
Runic has not validated an official Enshrouded dedicated-server mod or plugin loader yet. Do not place unrelated mod packages into the save directory or expect a Minecraft-style plugin folder to work. Keep the production world on the supported server build until a tested workflow is published.
Missing or damaged world
Stop the server and preserve the current save before trying a restore. Confirm the save directory in enshrouded_server.json, then restore the complete matching world set from a known-good backup. If the game reports a broken save, stop playing on it so newer backup rotations do not overwrite recoverable history.
